Booking and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
This Booking and Cancellation Policy applies to the 30-Minute Clarity Session offered by Rhowela A. Friel.
By booking or participating in a session, you agree to this policy, the Terms of Use, and the Privacy Policy.
1. Session description
A Clarity Session is a private, 30-minute video conversation intended to help you think through a career, business, writing, publishing, income, organizational, creative, or personal decision.
Rhowela will listen, ask questions, and share perspective based on her professional and lived experience.
The session is conversational and does not include a guaranteed decision, outcome, action plan, written assessment, research project, or continuing advisory relationship.
2. Price
The price is $99 USD for one 30-minute session.
The price displayed on the active booking page at the time of purchase controls if it differs from this page.
Applicable taxes or payment charges, if any, may be displayed during checkout.
3. Payment
Payment is required to confirm the booking.
The appointment is not confirmed until:
- Cal.com accepts the selected appointment;
- Stripe or another authorized payment processor successfully processes payment; and
- the client receives a booking confirmation.
Rhowelaafriel.com does not directly collect or store the client's full payment-card number.
4. Scheduling
Sessions are scheduled through https://cal.com/rhowelafriel/30min.
Available times are based on Rhowela's published availability and connected calendar conflicts.
Displayed availability may change at any time until a booking is confirmed.
All appointment times are shown in the time zone selected or detected by the scheduling platform. You are responsible for confirming the correct date, time, and time zone before completing the booking.
5. Video format
Sessions take place through the video platform identified in the confirmation message.
This may include Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cal Video, or another selected platform.
You are responsible for:
- having a compatible device;
- maintaining a reliable internet connection;
- testing your microphone and camera;
- joining through the correct link; and
- ensuring that you have a reasonably private environment.
6. Preparing for the session
No formal preparation is required.
You may come with:
- a specific decision;
- several competing options;
- a half-formed idea;
- a difficult situation;
- a career or business question; or
- the general feeling that something needs to change.
To make the best use of the time, consider identifying the main issue you want to discuss before the session.
Do not submit confidential employer, patient, client, tenant, customer, or third-party information.
Do not provide protected health information or sensitive medical information.
7. Rescheduling
You may reschedule one time when you submit the request at least one calendar day before the scheduled session.
Use the rescheduling link in your Cal.com confirmation email when available. You may also contact rhowelaafriel@gmail.com.
A rescheduling request is not complete until the replacement appointment is confirmed.
Repeated rescheduling is not permitted unless Rhowela agrees otherwise in writing.
A client-requested reschedule made after the cutoff may be declined and may be treated as a late cancellation.
Rhowela may decline a requested replacement time if availability is limited.
8. Cancellations and refunds
You may cancel a session and request a refund when you cancel at least one calendar day before the scheduled session.
Cancellations made after that cutoff are nonrefundable.
Missed appointments and no-shows are nonrefundable.
The scheduling and payment platform applies the configured cancellation cutoff when determining whether an automated refund is available.
If an approved refund is not processed automatically, contact rhowelaafriel@gmail.com.
Approved refunds will be returned through the original payment method. The payment processor and financial institution may require additional time for the refund to appear.
Payment-processing fees that are not returned by the payment processor may be deducted from an otherwise approved refund to the extent permitted by law.
The client cancellation cutoff does not apply when Rhowela cancels the appointment. A host-initiated cancellation is eligible for a full refund unless the client chooses to reschedule instead.
9. Late arrival
The session begins and ends at the scheduled times.
If you arrive late, the session may still end at the originally scheduled end time.
If you are more than 10 minutes late without prior communication, the appointment may be treated as a no-show and may not be eligible for a refund or rescheduling.
10. Technology problems
If your technology or internet connection prevents you from joining or completing the session, Rhowela may, at her discretion:
- continue by another available method;
- offer one rescheduled session; or
- treat the appointment as missed.
If a material technology problem on Rhowela's side prevents the session from taking place, you may choose:
- a rescheduled session; or
- a refund of the session price.
Brief interruptions that do not materially prevent the conversation do not automatically entitle either party to a refund.
11. Cancellation or rescheduling by Rhowela
Rhowela may need to cancel or reschedule a session because of illness, family emergency, unexpected work obligations, calendar conflicts, accidental double-booking, technical failure, or another unforeseen circumstance.
If this happens, Rhowela will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and offer you the choice of:
- rescheduling the session at no additional charge; or
- receiving a full refund of the amount paid.
If you choose to reschedule, the replacement appointment will not count against your one permitted client-initiated reschedule.
If no mutually acceptable replacement time is available, a full refund will be issued.
Rhowela is not responsible for incidental or consequential expenses or losses related to a canceled or rescheduled session, including lost income, travel costs, childcare expenses, or missed opportunities.
12. Scope and limitations
A Clarity Session is a supportive conversation based on Rhowela's experience and perspective.
It is not:
- medical care;

- to obtain professional legal, accounting, or insurance advice;
- when required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental process;

Do not share information you are not authorized to disclose.
15. Recording
Sessions may not be recorded by either participant unless both parties agree in writing before recording begins.
Screenshots, transcripts, artificial-intelligence meeting notes, automated transcription, or audio/video recording are not permitted without prior written consent.
16. Artificial intelligence tools
Do not use an AI notetaker, transcription bot, or automated meeting assistant during the session without Rhowela's prior written approval.
If an approved tool is used, the provider's privacy and data practices may apply.
17. Respectful participation
Rhowela may end a session immediately if a participant engages in:
- harassment;
- threats;
- discrimination;
- abusive conduct;
- sexual misconduct;
- unlawful activity;
- repeated boundary violations; or
- conduct that makes continuation unsafe or inappropriate.
A session ended for serious participant misconduct is not eligible for a refund.
18. No ongoing access or deliverables
The booking includes one 30-minute conversation only.
Unless expressly agreed in writing, it does not include:
- follow-up email advice;
- ongoing messaging;
- research;
- written recommendations;
- document review;
- introductions;
- accountability support;
- additional meetings;
- implementation work; or
- continuing access to Rhowela.
Any courtesy follow-up does not create an obligation to provide future support.
19. Intellectual property
Rhowela retains ownership of her frameworks, general methods, templates, explanations, and preexisting materials.
You retain ownership of your personal ideas and materials.
Booking a session does not transfer intellectual-property rights to either party.
20. Testimonials
Rhowela will not publish your name, image, or testimonial without permission.
If you voluntarily provide feedback, Rhowela may ask for separate written permission before using it publicly.
You are not required to provide a testimonial.
21. Chargebacks and payment disputes
Before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute, contact rhowelaafriel@gmail.com.
This gives the parties an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.
Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
22. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the State of California.
Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Riverside County, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
23. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated prospectively.
The policy in effect when you book generally applies to that appointment unless a change is required by law or you agree otherwise.
